This is important not only for protecting themselves from infection but also to reduce the risks to those around them.One of the most high risk environments is healthcare where every year, a significant number of people are made ill and die as a result of healthcare associated infections. Health care providers have a legal and moral obligation to ensure they are not contributing to these statistics.The most effective way of ensuring that employees are aware of how to control the spread of infection is for them to receive appropriate training in infection control.

Physical Intervention Skills within the Care Industry: will help you to, Understand physical interventions and the legal and implications of the use within either the NHS or the Care Industry, Understanding how to reduce the risk of harm when physical intervention skills are absolutely Necessary, you will be able to use non-pain and pain compliance related physical skills to protect yourself and others from assault, Be able to use non-pain related standing holding and escorting techniques, including non-restrictive and restrictive skills and whilst being able to understand good practice to follow after physical interventions.

The Human Rights Act 1998 It is important to note that all physical Intervention used by our training team conforms to the Human Rights Act 1998 and the relevant articles dealing with Respect, Diversity and being treated as a human being. Our team are former medical technicians with experience working with patients and in some cases the terminally ill. We understand the need for safety and security for medical staff as well as the patients themselves. Candidates on this course must fully understand the The Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 (CJIA) Section 76 which establishes a statutory framework for determining what is ‘reasonable force’ for the purposes of the common law of self-defence and the defences provided by section 3(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1967.We will always add the Human Rights Articles (legislation) to develop employees understanding of the law and the use of Absolutely Necessary Force especially where employees are paid by the public purse within Health Care. Patients are not always aware of their actions are distressful to others and some maybe psychologically challenged through mental illness or from an accident. It is essential human beings are treated with respect and dignity even in circumstances where it is absolutely Necessary to restraint them; either for their own personal safety or that of others.
